For the ninth time in a year, the Federal Reserve announced on March 22 that it was raising interest rates by 0.25%. The hike will increase the benchmark federal funds rate to a target range of 4.75% to 5%. “The move indicates that high inflation, currently at 6%, continues to threaten the economy. While unemployment is down, the job market and general price increases still have not stabilized”, commented Rusty Holzer.

The Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, explained that there is still a long way to go to bring inflation back down to 2%. Additionally, the recent collapse of three large banks is likely to impact various elements in the economy.

Rusty Holzer asks, “Will the Fed manage to normalize inflation levels? Will the past year’s rate increases and bank downfalls be too damaging to the economy? Only time will tell…”

For anyone visiting Wellington, the 46,848-foot retail site at 13501 South Shore Boulevard is worth a peek. Rusty Holzer stated, “At Worth Capital Holdings, we were very excited last year to be able to buy this shopping center and to see the growth it has had this year. Here, horse lovers can find an equestrian shop, a feed and supply store, and of course many places to eat, shop, and enjoy with others.” Holzer continued; “In an area that has many ties to the equestrian world, it’s a privilege to have a mall that caters to this clientele. We hope customers continue to enjoy the experience as we refine and dream about the endless possibilities before us!.
Rusty Holzer heads Worth Capital Holdings.

Obviously, none of us are fortune tellers. But if you go by the recent analysis by Michael Butler and Rebecca San Juan in the Miami Herald, Floridian real estate owners are doing well. Sale prices for single-family homes in many counties have continued to climb and, as the writers explained, “That pricing resilience shows how mighty the South Florida housing market remains, when compared to the rest of the country.” There are many interesting reasons for this situation, some of which are explained in the extensive article. Rusty Holzer comments that of course, “banking questions and interest rate questions could change this picture. For now, the great outlook for those in South Florida is exciting.”
